Treasure in a field
I think about treasure buried in a field
Hidden for years waiting to be found
I think about the treasure of each moment
I think about the treasure of days we wish would move forward faster
As I look back, I think about the treasure of those days I wished away
Everything of value I hold tightly
Close against my chest , deep within my heart
Cost is very high for this treasure
That's if the prized treasure is obtainable
Some sing that "the cost is a joy"
"the cost is a joy"
We dig in the Earth and find two diamonds -treasured gems
Under that peridot, opal,
emerald, and blue topaz,
-yellow greens, red ,and blues, spectrum inside a stone
of heaven and loyalty
Dig deeper and wholeheartedly
Near the peridot gemstones, aquamarine,
Ruby, and Sapphire
Oh Heaven and captivating Crimson sparkle
Alongside the opals we find
peridot, diamonds and garnets
- deep red, deep trust and affection
Digging deeper near the emerald a pearl, made from the living ,
aquamarine, emerald, and pearl again
trust and clarity
Near the blue topaz, a prized, purple amethyst
And the Ruby, and blue topaz again
strength and prized
The cost is surely priceless for these gems,
stones formed in such detail and brilliance
Hewn / cut, shaped, and carved from a Great rock, stable and lasting
I asked the cost
"He said that all that it takes is all that you've got
So we sing it out
Take it all
Take it all"
Treasure in a field, Glimpse poetry by Joe Holuta
About this poem: Treasure in a field is a poem inspired by a song I heard "the cost is a joy". I thought of treasures through my life. So many yeah at the Glimpse I had was my wife Jayne, our children, and then their children and how they were treasures. Then thought of a treasure in the field being gemstones so this includes their birthday month gemstones starting from our children, their spouse and to their children.
Jesus is our Great Rock. He is the ultimate treasure. I am so thankful that we have each of our children, in-laws and grandchildren in our lives .
We would give our all for you and your lives. If asked at what price or such a price, I would say "the cost is a joy." "Take it all take it all." -Joe Holuta
