“… Waiting- The Blossoming Dogwood…”

Waiting- The Blossoming Dogwood

Waiting

Today the blossoms may appear

reaching toward light

morning sunrise, early light

All of life really, waiting

Fleeting days

Today I hurry to see the sunrise

And to see if the flowering dogwood blossoms

Expectant and Thankful for another day

Another sunrise

Another blossom

Another chance to wait

Waiting,

new sunrise, new Blossoms, new Hope

No more voices of condemnation today

No more pointing the finger or reminded of not meeting the mark

“ God at this very moment sticking up for us” 1

New hope written in the dirt today 2

God's mercy is brand new morning after morning after morning.

Mountains high and valleys low

Sojourners together

Blossoming together

Stories and bright futures and reaching toward the light together

“You will thrive in the nourishing light that gives life and will not know darkness.” 3

Waiting- The Dogwood Blossoming, Glimpse poetry by Joe Holuta

About this Poem: Waiting- The Dogwood Blossoming, is a poem about the anticipation of seeing the blossoms and also how we need to wait for the good things to happen although waiting can be difficult. Waiting has always been hard for me. The poem is also about new mercies, hope, and new sunrises that give new perspective. Forgiveness is what we can extend daily to others since God forgave us. He is for us through the ups and downs and strengthens us, being the light that overcomes darkness. - Joe Holuta

1. “Who would dare even to point a finger? The One who died for us -who was raised to life for us! is in the presence of God at this very moment sticking up for us.” -Romans 8:34 THE MESSAGE

2. “Jesus bent over and wrote something in the dirt with His finger… and Jesus looked up. Dear woman, where is everyone? Are we alone? Did no one step forward to condemn you?”-John 8:6, 10 VOICE

3. “On another occasion, Jesus spoke to the crowds again. Jesus: I am the light that shines through the cosmos; if you walk with Me, you will thrive in the nourishing light that gives life and will not know darkness.” -John 8:12 VOICE
