Glimpses of God’s Grace
A smile, in uncertainty
Kind words, come alongside
Gestures of kindness, "toward the sufferer, hitting every branch on the way down"
A note, call, or text, a smile; light to the day
Tears of joy together with tears of pain, sufficient grace along the way
Look and see glimpses of God’s grace fill the day!
All creation a display, a shout, a call-
I want to live!
No more taking for granted
“No more squandering” through,
Now valuing each day, a gift to be appreciated.
“What are the chances, yet help is sent, just when needed?
Such is the kindness of God.
A wonderful glimpse of grace.” (1)
Hopeful, we watch expectantly
Hopeful, we wait confidently
We squint, to see clearly
We quake and tremble, like aspen leaves we flutter in the lightest breeze
But then hear a firm encouraging word-
“Keep your eyes wide open”, and hopeful.
“Live wide-awake, to life as it is!” (2)

About this poem: Glimpses of God’s Grace is a poem about taking notice each day of the grace of God. "Keep your eyes open" to this amazing life as we extend grace and become aware of others extending grace to us, no longer taking this mercy for granted. - Joe Holuta
